Work to complete Ameenee Magu resumes after weather improves

The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has recommenced the development work on Ameenee Magu after improved weather conditions.

Due to heavy rains on December 31, 2023, RDC temporarily suspended operations on Ameenee Magu. For safety reasons, the public has been cautioned against entering the area during this period as it is unsafe.

As part of the ongoing modernisation of Ameenee Magu, the road is currently undergoing excavation. The project includes burying cables, constructing pump stations, and installing bricks near the pavement to enhance the overall infrastructure.

The redevelopment of the remaining segments, 12 and 13, of Ameenee Magu resumed on December 9. The scope of the final two segments of Ameenee Magu has also been changed, incorporating four lanes for improved public convenience upon completion.

If the weather permitting, RDC anticipates completing the work within the next month. Once finished, the closed section of Ameenee Magu will be reopened to the public, providing improved accessibility.
