Villimale' development plan will include input from residents: Gov't

Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy Minister Thoriq Ibrahim has stated that the development plan for Villimale' will take into account the suggestions and input provided by the residents.

Speaking to PSM News after inspecting the project sites in Villimale', Minister Thoriq said that he made the visit on the instructions of the President in order to talk with residents and see the progress of the projects himself. He also said the government will develop Villimale' in accordance with the expectations of the residents.

Moreover, Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib said the government will collaborate with the Male' City Council while developing the island. He also said that surveys before the development of the roads, and that all the relevant ministries are involved in the initiative to upgrade the essential services in Villimale'.

Furthermore, Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar stressed the importance of incorporating residents' input in the development of any area. He also said that efforts are being made to expand the buggy service in Villimale' while the fiber glass work and fuel barges are being relocated to Thilafushi.

During the visit, the ministers toured the waste management area, dockyard, and fiber works businesses. They also held discussions with residents on implementing further solutions to improve the quality of life in Villimale'.
