The government has made the decision to disburse USD6.5 million from pending payments to fishermen.
Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) stated the payment is scheduled for January 10, and MIFCO expresses gratitude to the fishermen for their patience and cooperation.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, upon assuming office, initiated the process of releasing overdue payments to fishermen. To date, more than USD 12.3 million has been disbursed to fishermen since the inception of the current government.
