Mayor of Male' City Adam Azim has announced that the number of vehicle registratons and usage duration of vehicles will be decided on within the next six months. He made the announcement during his first press conference as the Mayor of Male'.
Speaking to the press conference, Mayor Azim emphasised the crucial task of alleviating congestion on the streets of Male'. He disclosed ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation to determine the optimal number of vehicles allowed in the city.
Additionally, Mayor Azim stressed that tackling congestion requires addressing the amount of vehicle registrations. He expressed intentions to collaborate with relevant authorities to manage unused vehicles on the streets. He also said that the Male' City Council plans to review regulations for allocating parking spaces and seek convenient solutions for city street issues.
Furthermore, Mayor Azim affirmed the full commitment of the city council to supporting the government's plan for modernising roads. He highlighted improvements to be made to roads, assuring that the enhancements will significantly alleviate congestion.
