PGO allows online submission of complaints over investigations

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has revealed that individuals dissatisfied with the investigation of a criminal case can now access all prosecutor's office services online to submit complaints.

Prosecutor General (PG) Hussain Shameem said that the goal is to transform their services into a luxury public service. He also said that the online service aims to enhance the transparency of the judicial system, providing convenience for both users and employees He detailed that complaints can be submitted through the PGO online portal, with the system automatically entering common form details. He also said that complainants need to explain their cases and upload relevant documents submitted to the investigating agency, confirming the case filing.

Furthermore, PG Shameem explained that once a complaint is submitted, it is sent directly to the assigned prosecutor. He said that the prosecutor sets an estimated response date after reading the complaint, with the complainant being notified via text message. He also said that the complainant receives a notification message even when the response is ready.

Moreover, PG Shameem revealed future plans to allow individuals who send letters to the PGO to receive information on the progress on processing the letter. He highlighted ongoing efforts to automate criminal record clearance and allowing victims to track case progress online without needing to visit the office.

The PGO has also developed a website for cases, featuring a database of all criminal laws, further contributing to its transformation into a premium public service.
