MDP publishes final voters' list for primary election

The Maldivian Democratic Party has published the final list of voters for the MDP parliamentary primary election.

The parliamentary election is scheduled to be held on March 17 and MDP has decided to hold its primary election on February 3. The opposition party published the final voters' list after opening the opportunity for members to submit complaints regarding the preliminary list until January 25.

MDP has also decided to contest all the constituencies in the upcoming parliamentary election. The deadline for party members to contest the primary has expired and MDP has confirmed party tickets to 36 candidates who were the only ones to contest their constituency. As such, MDP will hold the primary election to choose candidates for 43 constituencies.
