President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has re-appointed two ministers to his Cabinet and the Attorney General. The appointment ceremony was held at the President's Office.
At the ceremony, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed was re-appointed as the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed as the Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, and Ahmed Usham as the Attorney General. They took their oaths of office before Supreme Court Justice Husnu Al Suood.
Additionally, President Muizzu confirmed the appointment of Attorney General Ahmed Usham, as a member of the Judicial Services Commission (JSC). The President appointed Attorney General Usham to the position per Article 158 (i) of the Constitution of Maldives, which outlines the composition of the JSC, and Section 3 (9) of the Judicial Service Commission Act. which stipulates that the Attorney General holds membership of the JSC.
Prior to his appointment, Attorney General Usham took his oath in the presence of the President, with Supreme Court Justice Husnu Al Suood administering the oath. Upon being sworn in, Usham signed his letter of appointment. The President formally presented the appointment letter to Usham during the ceremony.
