Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has emphasised the necessity of collaboration with civil society organisations to address issues within the country. He made the statement while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Civil Society Conference in Mathiveri, Alifu Alifu Atoll.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Adam Shareef underscored the significance of unified efforts between the government and civil society organisations in tackling social challenges. He also acknowledged the commendable initiatives taken by certain associations to address such issues.
Additionally, Minister Adam Shareef expressed his hope for full cooperation from all councils across the country towards the endeavors of civil society organisations. He called upon everyone to unite and actively contribute to expanding the role of civil society in resolving diverse challenges in the nation.
The opening ceremony of the conference saw the participation of representatives from various associations. They highlighted the financial constraints and administrative challenges faced by these organisations. The conference also featured one association from each atoll in the Maldives and aims to facilitate meaningful discussions on such matters.
