President set to kick off inaugural island tour

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the commencement of an island tour, beginning with Thaa Atoll on February 6.

The President's itinerary includes visits to nine islands within Thaa Atoll, where he will engage with citizens and local authorities after assuming office. The scheduled islands to be visited are Guraidhoo, Dhiyamigili, Gaadhiffushi, Veymandoo, Buruni, Kandoodhoo, Vandhoo, Omadhoo, and Kinbidhoo.

During his visit from February 6-8, the President plans to interact with island councils, Women's Development Committees, and the general populace. Guraidhoo will be the first stop on this island tour, chosen as the initial destination due to its significance as the island where President Muizzu secured the largest majority in the presidential election, receiving 74.05% of the vote with 625 votes.

President Muizzu is eager to connect with the people of all visited islands at the earliest opportunity during his inaugural island tour since assuming office.
