Madifushi Council applauds gov't forward-thinking development policies

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with Madifushi Island's Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Guraidhoo Council Secretariat, addressing crucial concerns and priorities for the island's development.

During the meeting, the Council emphasised pressing issues, including incomplete projects, poor project quality, and a lack of planning from the previous Administration. Urging the acceleration of unfinished projects, the Council sought immediate attention to enhance the island's infrastructure.

Council members underscored the vital link between the island's progress and the development of the atoll airport. Additionally, they highlighted the urgency of advancing Fenaka projects, upgrading the water and sewerage systems, and expanding the council's jurisdiction to include uninhabited islands. The Council urged swift action on the revetment project and higlighted the need for a causeway on the island.

Meanwhile, WDC stressed it is important to improve health center services and highlighted challenges faced due to low salaries for committee members.

President Dr. Muizzu responded with a commitment to efficiently address these concerns after consulting with relevant authorities, demonstrating the administration's dedication to fostering island development and improving the overall well-being of Madifushi residents.
