Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has affirmed that Madaveli's development projects will be carried out in close consultation with the local community. He made the remark at a meeting with members of the Madaveli Council in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, held at President's Office.
Throughout the discussions, council members highlighted challenges stemming from limited land resources and concerns voiced by the island's fishing community. Key points of focus included the incomplete water and sanitation project, the imperative need for harbor expansion, and spatial constraints affecting the island's mosque. Additionally, attention was drawn to the obstacles faced by the island's school due to space limitations and the absence of single-session classes.
Vice President acknowledged the crucial nature of the emphasised projects for the island's development and reiterated the government's dedication to addressing the community's most pressing issues.
Highlighting the significant development initiatives earmarked for Madaveli, Vice President assured residents that these plans would be implemented in accordance with their specific requests. Importantly, he reassured the council members that the government would actively seek input from relevant authorities, underlining a collaborative approach to address their most pertinent issues.
