President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has forwarded nominations to the Parliament seeking approval for the appointment of Ambassadors to three key countries.
The proposed appointments include Masood Imad as the Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed as the Ambassador to Malaysia, and Geela Ali as the Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union (EU).
Masood Imad, the nominee for the Sri Lankan ambassadorial role, previously served as the Press Secretary of the Government under Dr. Mohamed Waheed. Geela Ali, slated for the role in Belgium and the EU, brings prior experience as a former Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Health, having also served in the foreign service.
The nominations have been forwarded to the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament for thorough consideration and approval.
