President discusses needs of Kandoodhoo residents

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held a meeting with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Kandoodhoo Island in the Thaa Atoll. The meeting took place at the Kandoodhoo Council's secretariat.

During the meeting, council members outlined the essential facilities and challenges faced by the local health center. The President was briefed on transportation difficulties experienced by the islanders and the deteriorating condition of the port. The need for an ATM and the advocacy for constructing an airport on the island were also highlighted. The WDC expressed concerns about their limited budget.

President Dr. Muizzu assured the council that relevant government ministries would closely collaborate to find cooperative solutions to the issues raised during the meeting.

Kandoodhoo Island marks the second destination on the second day of President Dr. Muizzu's ongoing three-day tour of the Thaa Atoll, accompanied by a delegation of high-level government officials.
