Omadhoo Island Council briefs president on critical resident needs

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held a meeting with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Omadhoo, Thaa Atoll.

During the meeting, the council members shared with President of the pressing needs of the island's residents and the essential requirements for fostering the island's development. Notably, they highlighted the challenges stemming from space constraints in the local school and elucidated on the indispensable enhancements needed to elevate the quality of educational services. Additionally, the council members earnestly requested the provision of facilities for women's sports and sought government assistance to bolster the island's revenue. Emphasising the importance of continuity, the Council urged the government to ensure the seamless progress of ongoing projects without any impediments.

The Omadhoo WDC took the opportunity to share their concerns and requirements to the President, expressing apprehensions about the hurdles faced in implementing activities on the island due to budget constraints.

President Dr. Muizzu, in response, assured that the relevant ministries of the Government would work closely with the council to collaboratively find effective solutions to the challenges presented during the meeting.
