President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members of Gaadhiffushi, Thaa Atoll during a meeting held at the island's Fenaka office.
The council members seized the opportunity to present the pressing developmental needs of the residents and the community to President Dr. Muizzu. Among the key concerns discussed were the space constraints faced by Gaadhiffushi Island School and Council Secretariat. The council members shed light on challenges experienced at the harbor and sought viable solutions. Furthermore, they emphasised the urgency of addressing issues related to fisheries, land scarcity, and the imperative deepening of the harbor channel. Notably, the need for essential services such as ATM facilities, an effective waste management system, and the enhancement of the health center were also brought to the forefront.
WDC members, playing a crucial role in the community, appealed to President Dr. Muizzu to revive halted development projects on the island.
President Dr. Muizzu, in response, assured the council and WDC members that the Administration would take immediate steps to resume stalled projects. He affirmed the Administration's commitment to expediting ongoing projects and pledged collaboration with relevant Government entities to address the challenges presented by the council.
During this visit, President Dr. Muizzu was accompanied by a high-level Government delegation.
