Maldives aims to become world-class marine hub

The National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has unveiled its ambition to position Maldives as a regional and global hub in the marine industry.

In an interview with PSM News during the "Maldives Marine Expo 2024," Event Manager Shaam Mohamed highlighted the international recognition already bestowed upon the Maldives marine industry by esteemed countries like Singapore and Dubai.

Shaam stated that this year's expo distinguishes itself from previous editions by featuring a diverse array of products and stalls within the marine industry. He acknowledged the positive trajectory of the Maldives Marine Expo since the challenges posed by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, Shaam emphasised the commitment of the boating industry to foster further development in the Maldives marine sector. The significant attendance at this year's expo, coupled with keen interest in the 2025 edition, underscores the growing importance of the event.

The primary objective of the Marine Expo remains to serve as a comprehensive platform for marine industry products, offering valuable information to those seeking insights into the sector.

Organised by the National Boating Association, this year marks the 9th edition of the expo, with the event scheduled to take place from February 8 to 11, from 1600hrs to 2200hrs at Central Park in Hulhumale'.
