The Maldives has participated in the seventh Indian Ocean Conference (IOC).
This year's conference is taking place in Perth, Australia. The conference is being held from February 9-10 and focuses on discussing the regional security concerns of each participating country and strategies for enhancing their development.
Representing the Maldives at the conference is the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheryna Samad, who engaged in bilateral discussions with Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam Dr. Nguyen Minh Vu. Their meeting aimed to explore avenues for strengthening the ties between the Maldives and Vietnam. In addition, State Minister Sheryna held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Ali Sabry, where they acknowledged the enduring friendship between their respective nations.
