President concludes visit to UAE and returns to Male'

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has successfully concluded his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after attending the World Governments Summit 2024 and arrived back in Malé.

The President travelled to the UAE at the invitation of the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister for Defence of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

During the World Governments Summit 2024, President Dr. Muizzu presented his vision for the future of the Maldives, emphasising the commitment to sustainable development. In addition to delivering a keynote address, the President engaged in several high-level discussions on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2024.

Addressing the Invest Maldives 2024 Dubai gathering, President Dr. Muizzu highlighted the crucial role of private sector-led growth in realising the government's transformation goals. The event, held at the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai, served as a valuable networking platform for potential investors to connect with the local business community and government officials.

Furthermore, President Dr. Muizzu met with the Maldivian community residing in the UAE. During this interaction, he officially launched "Riveli," a tailored online programme designed to revitalise nationalistic identity. This initiative incorporates Dhivehi language and Islamic studies to educate Maldivians abroad, reinforcing their cultural ties.

The visit reaffirmed strong diplomatic ties and provided a platform for the Maldives to showcase its commitment to sustainable development, economic growth, and cultural preservation on the international stage.
