Gov't stresses practical role of heritage institute coordinators

Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has emphasised the importance of practical engagement for the 10 coordinators at the National Institute for Maldivian Heritage.

Speaking to PSM News, Minister Naseer highlighted the need for applicants to understand the hands-on aspects of the role before applying. He also emphasised the practical tasks over desk work.

Additionally, Minister Naseer stressed the significance of coordinators immersing themselves in the tangible skills and labour involved in Maldivian heritage, suggesting activities like observing traditional boat carving firsthand. He also announced plans to recruit an additional 50 researchers for the Institute, emphasising the importance of researchers both documenting their findings and sharing their knowledge through teaching.

The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage initiated the application process for coordinator positions on February 13, closing on February 20 at 1300hrs. Interested candidates, preferably under 35 years old, are required to possess proficiency in Dhivehi and English, along with a bachelor's degree and teaching experience in fields such as political science, counseling, psychology, language, literature, or sociology.
