Gov't to prioritise fishermen's challenges

Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resource Ahmed Shiyam has emphasised the government's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by fishermen in the sector. He made the statement during the launch ceremony for the fisheries register and the soft loan programme for fishermen in Komandoo, Shaviyani Atoll.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Shiyam highlighted the significance of the launch, citing it as a key pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu upon assuming office. He reiterated the President's commitment to bolstering the fishing community's involvement in the sector, underscoring the vital role of the programmes launched by the fisheries ministry. He also emphasised the implementation of initiatives outlined in the Week 14 Roadmap.
