Gov't to foster scout-friendly environment: Vice President

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has stated that as a country bound by friendly, cordial, and brotherly ties, it is vital for the Maldives to prioritise activities such as scouting. He made the remarks while meeting with Maldivian scouts participating in Sri Lanka’s 10th National Scout Jamboree.

Speaking at the meeting held at Ghiyasuddin International School, Vice President Latheef wished good luck to the scouts partaking in the Jamboree, emphasising the importance of upholding Maldivian values while representing the nation abroad. He also stressed the importance of maintaining good behaviour, ethics, friendship, and togetherness for the scouts while being mindful of their prayers, time management, and respect for superiors.

Additioanlly, Vice President Latheef acknowledged the important work of scout leaders in arranging activities such as Scout Jamborees. He also expressed gratitude to the leaders for their dedication towards societal progress.

A total of 242 Maldivian scouts are participating in the 10th National Scout Jamboree. It is the largest international scout contingent to attend the scout jamboree.
