President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu confirms the government's commitment to providing flats from the inaugural social housing project to individuals who received letters but did not get Hiyaa flats.
Responding to a question from Mohamed Shuhail of Madaveli, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, in the 'Raees ge Javaabu' series, the President reaffirmed his pledge made during the presidential election campaign. Individuals who missed out on Hiyaa flats will be accommodated in the government's first social housing project, he reiterated.
The previous government deemed some Hiyaa flat recipients ineligible and confiscated their flats. President Muizzu, during his campaign, vowed to provide flats to those who were promised Hiyaa flats but did not receive them.
To improve living conditions in Hiyaa towers, the government is taking several measures, including reducing flat rents and initiating the installation of additional elevators.
