President assures Week 14 agenda will proceed on schedule

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his assurance that the government's Week 14 agenda will proceed according to schedule. He conveyed this confidence while engaging with residents of Hithadhoo and Feydhoo in Addu City.

Speaking to the residents, President Dr. Muizzu underscored the execution of tasks outlined in the Week 14 Roadmap by the government. He highlighted the dedicated efforts of government ministries and agencies in achieving the objectives outlined in the roadmap, which comprises 161 pledges covering construction endeavors and policy initiatives.

Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu elaborated on development initiatives in Addu, stating that groundwork for essential services on the recently reclaimed 50 hectares of land will commence promptly. He also outlined plans for housing projects in the area. He also emphasised ongoing efforts to expedite development projects such as Gan International Airport (GIA), Hanimaadhoo International Airport (HIA), Velana International Airport (VIA), and others.

Furthermore, President Dr. Muizzu provided updates on legislative endeavors, highlighting the progress of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Act drafting and the receipt of a proposal for a 110MW power generation project. He also emphasised the simultaneous commencement and progression of numerous projects.

In conclusion, President Dr. Muizzu reassured the public that government loans for project implementation would not burden them. He also pledged an increase in the involvement of Maldivian companies in the execution of major projects.
