President pledges to fulfill commitments to Fuvahmulah City

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to fulfill commitments to Fuvahmulah City. He gave the assurance during the meeting with the members of the Fuvahmulah City Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) at the Fuvahmulah City Council Secretariat. They held extensive discussions about the most pressing issues and development needs for the city.

During the session, Council members underscored the significance of progressing with the second phase of road construction, which commenced today, and concurrently completing the remaining roads. Additionally, the Council stressed the urgency of initiating construction on the proposed 400 housing units in Fuvahmulah City at the earliest convenience. Other matters raised included the need for high-quality services at the current hospital, addressing space shortages at the harbor, expanding the airport runway, enhancing powerhouse capacities, expeditiously completing the fish storage system, and constructing a new hospital. The WDC members also voiced their concerns during the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, the President reassured the community of the planned modernization of all roads in Fuvahmulah City, as previously committed. He further affirmed the Administration's dedicated attention to resolving the power crisis and other community concerns.

Prior to the meeting with the City Council members, President Dr. Muizzu inaugurated the second phase of the Fuvahmulah City Road Development Project.
