"Land allocation from Giraavarufalhu maybe changed to Gulhifalhu"

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has indicated the potential for relocating land allocation from Giraavarufalhu to Gulhifalhu. He made the statement during the "Raees ge Javaab" series, which facilitates direct public interaction with the President on diverse issues.

During the session, Aminath Leela from Hulhumale' expressed concerns to President Dr. Muizzu about the possibility of individuals who have received land plots from Giraavarufalhu being able to acquire land from Gulhifalhu or Hulhumale' instead.

In response, President Dr. Muizzu acknowledged that others that obtained land plots from Giraavarufalhu have raised similar queries. He also clarified that the government has yet to reach a decision on this matter and has not established a specific policy.

Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu emphasised the importance of determining whether individuals who received land from Giraavarufalhu would be eligible for land from Gulhifalhu. He mentioned that the land use plans for both Giraavarufalhu and Gulhifalhu are currently being finalised.

The previous government had allocated land plots from Giraavarufalhu and provided documentation to certain individuals. However, the reclaimed land lacks access to basic services such as electricity and water.
