President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held a meeting with the members of the Island Council of Kondey, Gaafu Alifu Atoll and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Secretariat of the Kondey Council.
During the meeting, the Council addressed various urgent matters concerning the economic and infrastructure development of the island. They emphasized the need to expand the harbour and construct housing units. Discussions also centered around establishing laboratory services and extending the health centre building to facilitate small tests. Additionally, the Council shared insights into the necessary changes required in the water sanitation and outflow project.
The President highlighted the national-level focus on the development of agriculture in the Maldives as one of the top priorities of his Government. He mentioned that islands with sufficient land would be given priority for agricultural development. The President also expressed the intention to promote and develop local tourism across various sectors. Furthermore, he reassured the Council that addressing these issues and implementing solutions would be a top priority for the Administration.
