Dhaandhoo Council outlines key concerns for the island's development

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with members of the Dhaandhoo Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Secretariat of the Dhaandhoo Council. During the meeting, various concerns and priorities were discussed by the Council and WDC.

The Council members highlighted the pressing need for a housing initiative, improved access to banking services, and the establishment of a hospital. They stressed the importance of expediting ongoing projects to facilitate the island's development, including the 50-tonne ice plant project and providing essential amenities in the reclaimed area. Additionally, there was a strong interest in connecting Nilandhoo and Dhaandhoo with a bridge.

The WDC emphasised the need for enhancements in the healthcare system, particularly advocating for a gynecologist and more affordable housing options.

President Muizzu assured the members that all concerns raised would be carefully addressed, and relevant Ministers provided updates on the current status of the issues discussed.
