President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has convened with members of the Nilandhoo Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Secretariat of the Dhaandhoo Council. The meeting addressed various concerns and priorities raised by the Council and WDC.
Council members emphasised the importance of coastal protection, identified space constraints in the council office, stressed the necessity for agricultural development, and highlighted the significance of establishing a city hotel. The need for a new harbor and increased funding for the WDC were also noted. Additionally, the Council expressed a desire for a bridge connecting the island to Dhaandhoo and urged the government to expedite on-hold projects. They also called for facilities for youth development, including handball courts.
During the meeting, Ministers in attendance provided updates on the concerns raised by the Council. President Muizzu assured that all concerns would be taken into consideration and addressed.
