Thakandhoo Council shares their developmental needs to the President

The President convened with the Island Council of Thakandhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members at the Haa Alifu Education Centre.

Council members underscored the urgency of expediting the water and sanitation project and emphasized the significance of establishing a community center for the island. They sought assistance from the Administration in addressing waste management issues and requested the construction of a waste management center on their island.

In addition, the Council members highlighted the challenges stemming from budget limitations. They expressed the aspiration to incorporate an uninhabited island into the jurisdiction of the Thakandhoo Council, aiming to enhance the economic prospects of the island.

During the meeting, the President assured the Council members that he would address the raised concerns after consulting with relevant ministries. Cabinet Ministers also provided updates on the Administration's ongoing efforts to tackle the highlighted issues.
