President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held a meeting with the members of Sh. Kan'ditheemu Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Secretariat of Kan'ditheemu Council.
During the meeting, the Council members emphasized the need for health sector development, increased classrooms in the school, and access to sewerage and water sanitation systems in the immediate surroundings of new homes. The Council also highlighted the necessity for road modernization, harbor development, and erosion prevention on the island's shore. They further conveyed the significance of expanding the business and tourism sectors.
The Kan'ditheemu WDC made a strong case during the meeting for changing their labor as an occupation and making them eligible for employment benefits.
In response, the President assured that the Administration would thoroughly examine the issues raised by the members. The Ministers in attendance shared the latest updates on the Government's efforts to address the concerns raised by the Council, demonstrating a collaborative approach to promote the holistic development of Kan'ditheemu.
