The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) announced that the upcoming parliamentary elections are scheduled for April 21.
This decision comes after President ratified the amendment to the General Elections Act. Originally set for March 17, the election date was postponed due to the approval of the 5th Amendment to the General Election Act.
The ECM has now confirmed the election date as April 21, with voting taking place from 0800hrs to 1600hrs. Vote counting will commence after 1600hrs.
This year's parliamentary elections will encompass 93 constituencies, and the electoral bodu is actively preparing for the electoral process.
