President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the members of the Manadhoo Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC).
During the meeting, the Council shared the island's developmental requirements and outlined the challenges faced by the community. Members highlighted the failure of the current sewage system and the absence of water and sanitation systems in the newly populated area.
The Council also addressed ongoing concerns with the jetty project, emphasizing the need for careful considerations. Furthermore, they expressed the necessity for therapy services at Atoll hospitals, the development of sports complexes, improvements in the sports sector, and the establishment of an ice plant. The Council acknowledged the importance of expanding the local market.
Speaking at the meeting, the President said that the Administration would prioritize the water and sanitation issues in Manadhoo. He reassured the members that the Administration would thoroughly examine the concerns brought forward by the Council. Ministers in attendance provided updates on the Government's current initiatives to resolve the issues raised by the Council.
