President departs to Baa and Raa Atoll

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has commenced a three-day visit to various islands of the Baa and Raa Atoll. During this visit, the President is scheduled to visit multiple islands in the atolls, engaging with residents, island councils, and Women’s Development Committees (WDC) as time permits. Meetings with the atoll councils of both the North and South Maalhosmadulu Atoll are also planned.

Throughout his ongoing tour of all the atolls, the President aims to actively interact with local communities and councils to expedite development projects. These interactions will involve discussions on community priorities and the developmental vision for their respective islands.

President Dr. Muizzu has consistently expressed his commitment to visiting every island in the nation at least twice within the next five years. In February, he visited Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Thinadhoo City, Thaa Atoll, and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, engaging with all the councils of these atolls. Meetings were held with all the councils and WDCs of Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani atolls. Additionally, the President engaged with all councils except one in Noonu Atoll, addressing the development concerns of the respective communities.
