Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing the residents' prosperity through fostering business opportunities. He made the remarks while speaking at a gathering with the residents of Dhuvaafaru, during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's visit to Raa Atoll.
Speaking at the gathering, Minister Shareef acknowledged the challenging economic climate inherited by the government. He also emphasised ongoing efforts to strengthen and revitalise the economy.
Highlighting initiatives aimed at economic expansion and strenthging, Minister Shareef outlined plans to enhance island airports and establish business hubs across the nation. He echoed President Dr. Muizzu's emphasis on broadening the tax base to bolster economic resilience and financial stability. He also underscored the government's dedication to facilitating tax collection while supporting entrepreneurship, enabling self-reliance among citizens.
Th government has also committed to enhancing the decentralisation system as a means to spur economic growth and resilience.
