President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed hope to implement maximum development initiatives proposed by the Un’goofaaru Council by the end of the year. The commitment was expressed during his meeting with the Un'goofaaru Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC), at the Secretariat of Un'goofaaru Council.
During the meeting, the Council highlighted the importance of a housing project, coastal preservation, the prompt completion of the school's eight classrooms and multipurpose hall, and the construction of an additional 16 classrooms. They also requested jurisdiction over Un'gulu Island for economic purposes, advocated for RTL ferry services, and highlighted the necessity of developing a commercial port in Un’goofaaru. Members also requested the acceleration of football field establishment and other socio-economic development needs on the island. During the meeting, WDC emphasised the need for a handball court and swimming track.
President Dr. Muizzu assured that the administration would address the concerns brought forth by the Council.
