The President of the Export-Import Bank of China Ren Shengjun has paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
During the meeting, President Muizzu emphasised the strong ties between China and the Maldives, underscoring the significant support extended by EXIM Bank to the Maldives. He highlighted various key developmental initiatives from China, including the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge and multiple social housing projects. The President reiterated his commitment to providing housing for all Maldivians within his five-year term.
In response, the President of EXIM China acknowledged the historical ties, cooperation, and mutual respect between the two nations. He specifically recognized the Maldives' early participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and expressed EXIM China’s readiness to foster positive collaborations with the Maldives.
The meeting concluded with both President Muizzu and the President of China Exim Bank reaffirming their commitment to future engagements and collaborations.
