President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the inclusion of Lhos-alafushi in the jurisdiction of Kurendhoo, Lhaviyani Atoll, during a gathering with the residents of Kurendhoo.
Addressing the gathering, President Dr. Muizzu underscored the importance of fostering economic growth for every island, expressing the government's commitment to this objective. He confirmed the integration of Lhos-alafushi as part of Kurendhoo, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to achieve economic progress.
President Dr. Muizzu also mentioned previous agreements related to Lhos-alafushi and pledged to nullify them in accordance with existing laws, allocating the island for the future development of Kurendhoo.
Furthermore, the President outlined plans for the rapid development of Kurendhoo, which include addressing issues with the island's harbor, incorporating road construction into the budget, and completing the development of 12 classrooms and a multipurpose hall to address space constraints in the island school.
