President urges to respect each other during campaigning

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the importance of conducting a truthful and honorable campaign for the upcoming parliamentary election, urging the public to refrain from spreading lies even amidst competition. He made the remarks while speaking at a gathering with the residents of Naifaru, Lhaviyani Atoll.

Speaking at the gathering, President Dr. Muizzu stressed the significance of integrity and urged the public to use the month of Ramadan for self-reflection and community building. He underscored the necessity of abstaining from falsehoods, insults, and misinformation, urging individuals to prioritise sincerity and compassion. He emphasised that Ramadan provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and encouraged fasting in its true essence.

Regarding the parliamentary election, President Dr. Muizzu acknowledged its competitive nature but urged participants to maintain integrity in their campaigning, advocating for respectful discourse and positive conduct. He highlighted the importance of nurturing good habits and fostering mutual respect.

Furthermore, President Dr. Muizzu called for the establishment of strong relationships and a compassionate society during Ramadan. He also emphasised that national progress hinges on individual self-improvement and societal harmony, admonishing against the proliferation of falsehoods under any circumstances.
