Kuwait Fund withdraws funds over procurement policy violation

Minister of Health Abdulla Khaleel has revealed that aid provided by the Kuwaiti fund was withdrawn due to the previous government's failure to adhere to procurement rules and regulations set by the Kuwaiti fund. The minister made this statement while addressing questions from members of parliament.

Expressing concerns, Minister Abdullah Khaleel emphasized that all international funding agencies have established procurement rules that must be followed. He stated that the aid from the Kuwaiti fund was halted because the previous government did not comply with these regulations.

According to the minister, the Kuwaiti fund had offered assistance to establish hospitals in various parts of the nation. However, with the withdrawal of support, the government is now making efforts to secure financial assistance to continue these projects as planned. Additionally, the government is actively working to reobtain the funding.
