Vice President stresses parliament majority crucial to implement manifesto

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has highlighted the significance of securing a parliamentary majority in the upcoming election to ensure policies outlined in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's manifesto upon assuming office are achieved.

Addressing a gathering by the ruling People's National Congress (PNC), Vice President Latheef emphasised the importance of translating the promises laid out in the President's manifesto into tangible actions. He noted that the manifesto, crafted in response to the aspirations of the people, encompasses essential projects aimed at meeting societal needs. Stressing the necessity of securing a parliamentary majority in the upcoming election, he affirmed the government's dedication to fulfilling the citizens' desires for positive change.

Furthermore, Vice President Latheef reflected on the previous government's negative utilisation of a significant parliamentary majority and encouraged citizens to assess its effectiveness in serving their interests. He also reiterated President Dr. Muizzu's unwavering commitment to public service and noble intentions.

In the upcoming parliamentary election scheduled for April 21, PNC has fielded 89 candidates.
