Agreements signed to develop resort in Kelaa

Ministry of Tourism has signed an agreement with the island council of Kelaa, Haa Alif Atoll, to develop a resort within the coastal area of the island. The development of a resort within the region is one of the commitments of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu made during his visit to the island in February.

Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal revealed that the project is to commence soon highlighting that the ministry will conduct investment forums in Singapore, Dubai, Thailand, and other middle eastern countries, to obtain potential investors for the project. The minister additionally revealed the efforts underway to dredge land from the shoreline of Kelaa, with an overarching goal of completing the project within the current presidential term.

During the official visit to Kelaa, President Dr. Muizzu recognised the significant benefits of establishing a resort within the region. The commencement of the resort is bound to open several job opportunities for the youth, increasing the employment of the country.
