Lack of parliamentary cooperation will negatively impact Gov'ts budget

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has underscored the crucial importance of parliamentary cooperation, stating that the outcomes of electing otherwise will impact the government's budget. The remarks were made during a political event held by the ruling coalition, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and the People's National Congress (PNC).

Speaking at the event, President Dr. Muizzu revealed the launch of several development projects, while emphasising the government's unwavering commitment to progress on a daily basis. The president highlighted the pivotal role of collaboration with the parliamentarians in achieving the overarching goals.

Shedding light on the Maldives Economic Getaway project determined to commence in Ihavandhippolhu Atoll, President Dr. Muizzu proclaimed that this project was initiated aiming to increase the prosperity and the sustainability of the nation. The president observed that this target can only be achieved if the parliamentarians elected share similar views and opinions with the current administration. He additionally cautioned against the potential obstacles that could arise if candidates elected do not align with the government's agenda, including constraints in project budgets and allocations.

Therefore, President Dr. Muizzu exhorted citizens to place the development and future of the nation above their individual interests when casting their votes. The president unveiled the government's focus of being result oriented, affirming the commitment to fulfilling all promises outlined in the government's manifesto.
