Fonadhoo Council raises concerns about delayed road construction

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held discussions with members of the Fonadhoo Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) at the Fonadhoo Community Centre to discuss the island's most pertinent concerns and development priorities.

During the meeting, the Council raised concerns about delayed road construction and challenges faced by the school due to dual sessions. Additionally, they stressed the importance of establishing an artificial beach area for elderly residents to access the sea safely.

Various issues, including water supply, sanitation, electricity, and enhancing the healthcare system, were addressed by the Council. They also discussed tourism prospects for the island.

Fonadhoo Island’s WDC highlighted insufficient funding for their activities and emphasized the necessity of pension schemes, maternity leave, Ramadan allowances, borrowing opportunities, and fair wages for committee members.

President Dr. Muizzu committed to addressing the concerns raised by the Council. He provided updates on the Government's ongoing initiatives aimed at addressing these issues through the Ministers present at the meeting, reaffirming his dedication to addressing the island's needs.
