President vows to fulfil all pledges made for Addu City's development

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reiterated his steadfast commitment to fulfilling all pledges made regarding the development of the entire country, including Addu City. Speaking at a campaign event held in Addu City, President Dr. Muizzu assured residents that Addu City would be developed to provide advanced conveniences akin to those in Male' City, aiming to make it the primary hotspot in the southern region.

President Dr. Muizzu announced that efforts to achieve this goal had commenced without delay, with plans to produce tangible results expeditiously. He highlighted the Addu Bridge Project as a priority, including it in the government's first Week-14 plan. President Dr. Muizzu revealed that research work for the bridge would be completed within two months with the assistance of an Egyptian company, with the design nearing finalization. He envisioned completing and inaugurating the bridge before the end of his term.

Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu outlined ongoing efforts to enhance various sectors in Addu City, including housing, education, and healthcare systems. He disclosed plans to develop Gan Airport to an international standard, aiming to expand services and increase flights to various destinations, particularly to Sri Lanka.

In tandem with airport development, President Dr. Muizzu highlighted initiatives to expand the tourism sector, with plans to increase bed capacity by 6,000 beds. He also announced the commencement of the Hankeda project, which aims to create direct and indirect job opportunities.

President Dr. Muizzu emphasized that these interconnected projects, along with efforts to rectify past administration errors such as incomplete road development, would serve as transformative endeavors, bolstering economic growth. He pledged to upgrade healthcare facilities and water networks within the city, highlighting the significant investment in these areas.

President Dr. Muizzu concluded by affirming that despite facing challenges and initiating these projects without parliamentary cooperation, with a supportive parliament, the government could expedite development efforts to meet residents' needs efficiently.
