President pledges to address Dharanboodhoo needs

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of people in Dharanboodhoo.

Following the President's visit to Faafu Atoll, he conducted an official visit to Dharanboodhoo, where he actively engaged with the Island council and as well as the Women's Development Committee (WDC).

During the meeting, Dharanboodhoo council pressed the stressing need to address coastal erosion, and emphasised several key priorities to President Muizzu. These include, facilitation of soft loans for housing on issued plots of land, completing the multipurpose hall, constructing roads and health facilities, upgrading the football ground, developing a volley court along with the establishment of a park on the island.

Moreover, WDC emphasised the budget constraints they face, highlighting the need for assistance to utilise the building for the committee's various programmes and activities.

Addressing the concerns, President Muizzu affirmed that efforts are underway to establish the youth centre and as well shed light on the ongoing work pertaining to the establishment of the football stadium.

President Muizzu further assured the island council that he would address the concerns raised during the meeting. Through the Ministers present, he relayed the latest updates on the key issues raised by the Council, demonstrating his commitment to addressing the development needs of Dharanboodhoo.
