Vice President stresses civil service in expediting national initiatives

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has underscored the crucial role of collaboration from the Maldives Civil Services with the government in expediting and modernising national initiatives led by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. He made the remarks at the inaugural ceremony of the fourth Civil Service Conference.


Speaking at the conference, Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef highlighted that the Civil Service Commission, as an independent institution, has seen positive changes over the past 17 years, contributing significantly to the development of civil servants and the enhancement of service quality.

In his address, Vice President emphasised the great responsibility civil servants hold in serving the public, noting that their efforts are essential in facilitating the administration's goals. He also acknowledged hard work of civil servants, highlighting their love and dedication towards the nation.

He further stressed that public service requires patience and wisdom, as civil servants are key in implementing and supporting the provisions and visions laid out by the government. He urged civil servants to collaborate and cooperate in achieving the swift and effective execution of President Muizzu’s objectives for national progress. He alsi noted that prompt and expedite facilitations of provisions is the key motto for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential tenure.

Moreover, Vice President highlighted the need to leverage modern technology to address long queues for services, emphasising the critical importance of making it accessible online from home. He also added the importance of attaining public opinion to improve services, indicating the present administrations unwavering commitment towards incorporating public welfare effectively.

Furthermore, Vice President Latheef stressed that the administration will work day and night to facilitate the requests of civil servants and expedite provisions to the public, adhering to their needs and expectations. He further urged all civil servants to provide collaboration accordingly.

He concluded his speech, expressing optimism, hoping that the Civil Service Conference , which has started following a five year break would be fruitful, leading to important decisions being made.
