Maldives, Slovakia discuss enhancing ties in tourism and trade

Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Maldives Robert Maxian, has presented his Letters of Credence to the President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held at the President's Office. The Ambassador was escorted to the President's Office from the Republic Square in a cultural procession, "Haiykolhu", with the Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.

Following the presentation, the President and Ambassador discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in tourism, trade and other areas of mutual interest. They also discussed forwarding the two countries' friendly relations to the next level.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the Slovak Republic were established on 1 January 1993. The Ambassador is accredited to the Maldives as a non-resident Ambassador and resides in New Delhi, India.
