He highlighted Shareef’s philanthropic efforts, including building a mosque and aiding the less fortunate and various communities. The president also extended his condolences to his family and prayed for their patience.
Meanwhile, ministers and tourism industry stakeholders have also conveyed their sympathies. In a social media post, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed shared details of his recent meeting with Shareef, describing him as a kind and generous individual. The Minister proposed expanding and enhancing Ibrahim Mosque in Male' City, a proposal that has been approved by the government.
Hussain Shareef, known for his ownership of Ozen Reserve Bolifushi, a leading brand in the tourism sector, passed away while receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
