President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the number of free Quran classes will be increased, revealing plans to expand the service across the nation. The announcement was made by the president at the closing of the 36th National Quran Competition, held at the Islamic Centre's meeting hall.
Although free Quran classes were established in various islands, including Male' City, they were not managed or run sustainably. Addressing this issue, President Dr. Muizzu stated that the government will prioritise facilitating the adornment of Islamic culture in the people's lives. The president declared the expansion of the service to include free Quran classes across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Dr. Muizzu disclosed that Maldivians have developed a sincere relationship with the Quran, and it plays a pivotal role in daily lives of all individuals. The president noted the long-lasting tradition of Maldivians, of teaching children the Holy Quran as soon as they learn the Arabic letters and pronunciation. Additionally, he underscored the importance of ensuring that our actions align with the Holy Quran, stating that it was the solution for all current disciplinary issues.
