Gov't says action taken against traffic problems will benefit all

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen has stated that the actions taken against traffic problems are intended to benefit all residents, particularly those in the Greater Male' Region. The statement was made by the minister in a post shared on social media.

In the social media post, Minister Ameen expressed concern over the traffic situation in Greater Male' Region, noting that it was making the lives of citizens inconvenient. The minister stated that the situation was markedly worsened due to the actions taken by the previous administration, including the normalisation of illegal garage letters, the use of unregistered vehicles and using Male' and Hulhumale' roads as scrapyards for vehicles. He stressed the need for stringent measures to address these issues and improve conditions for citizens.

Furthermore, Minister Ameen recognised the support from the public on the efforts taken to resolve the traffic issues. The minister also urged all authorities and the public to work together to find solutions for the benefit of all.

The current government has been exerting maximum efforts to resolve traffic problems within the Greater Male' Region. As such, the government has launched Male' Fahi Programme, aimed to tackle traffic congestion in the Greater Male' Region and enhance road safety and security.
